training training training...

It´s january and training is starting to be more and more intensive.
I spent last weekend at Märkiö training camp which was organized by local cycling club HyPy.
Two nights and two days of training... In total i got 8,5 hours of training including 6 hours of cycling, pretty good considering it was -5 to -10 celcius outside.
On monday i had a 1,5hours of spinning, wednesday 2,5 hours of all kinds of games with cycling club and on thursday i went to gym with Miika Rantatorikka. Miika is very respected coach in finnish baseball scene, he has earned few gold medals in finnish national series as a coach.
He had good ideas about training for DH and i learned alot. To give you idea what we did i say we did pretty much nothing with weights. Mostly it included different movements from push up position to get better mobility and coordination, as well as getting heart rate up.
One good movement was push ups with both hands and both legs on 8kg medicine ball (basket ball which weights alot), both hands and legs were on ball of it´s own so you had to control every joint individually.

Keep it up, season is closer than you think!
